Aug 18, 2017: Belted Kingfisher

While perched on a shrub at the SW corner of the south lake, this male Belted Kingfisher is watching for small fish to swim by.  Females are actually more colorful (an extra orange band across the chest) than the males. (Wolf. Oesterreich, 7/15/17)
