May 30, 2020: Northern Raccoon

As I approached the west side of Pond G I heard some splashing sounds and then spotted a mammal climbing up the side of a tree. The face of a Northern Raccoon peeked out from the side, while water dripped from its body.  Also present were 5♂ Mallards and a female Wood Duck and her 4 ducklings. (Wolf. Oesterreich, 5/27/20)

May 28, 2020: Chestnut-sided Warbler

Many warbler species are migrating through Iowa, including Chestnut-sided Warblers.  This male was found in the bluff woods. (Wolf. Oesterreich, 5/17/20)
