April 18, 2018: Kinglets

Check out those small greenish birds that seemingly never stop to rest in your shrubs and trees.  Two species of kinglets are now passing through.  The Golden-crowned Kinglet (left) is the more colorful and not as abundant as the Ruby-crowned Kinglet (at right).  The "ruby" is only visible when the bird is agitated. (Wolf. Oesterreich, 4/13/18)

April 16, 2018: Northern Shrike

One of the last of  this season's Northern Shrike before heading north.  This shrike was found below the Upland Trail, just east of Jensen Pond. (Wolf. Oesterreich, 3/29/18)

April 14, 2018: Turkey Vultures

Turkey Vultures have been seen since the 13th of March at the Park.  This one was found perched in the savannah woods.  (Wolf. Oesterreich, 3/25/18)
