This Tachina Fly (Trichopoda pennipes), a member of the Family
Tachinidae, was found on Prairie Dogbane. The larvae of this species
are parasitoids of several true bugs, including squash bugs, leaf-footed
bugs, and stinkbugs. They appear in late Spring or early Summer and
feed on nectar sucked from various flowers. 7/13/15 (Wolf. Oesterreich)
