On the left is a ventral view
of a Question Mark (Polygonia interrogationis), a member of the Nymphalidae
family. They tend to like rotting fruit, sap, decaying carcasses.
This one was visiting a dead frog. On the right, is a dorsal view. (Wolf. Oesterreich, 6/19/17)
