Walking around the lake right after sunset, I saw the familiar "V" shaped wake of what I though was a duck from a distance. As it came close to the shore it became obvious it was much larger and quicker than a duck swimming. I noticed a downed tree close by to where the animal emerged from the water with the tell-tale "cut" of a beaver. Sure enough as I got closer to the edge of the water, the beaver came to the surface and surprised us both. It's a big one! (Kevin Kane, 8/19/17)
