Jan 27, 2021: Sandhill Crane

Paul D. and I were quite surprised to see an adult Sandhill Crane fly over the south lake and then land among the Canada Geese and Trumpeter Swans.  This crane is my first January record for the Park.  After a bit more than 5 minutes, the crane took to the air again, circling the south lake many times, and eventually drifting off to the west.  As I continued my ride and after crossing the bridge, I heard the call of the crane.  The crane had returned and was circling the north wetland complex.  Due to the surrounding trees I soon lost track of the crane.  I'm assuming that this bird was a lost male.  Oh, sorry guys.  I mean, misplaced.  Looks like the Trumpeter Swan is telling the crane that he's at the wrong place.
