What species is that orange butterfly you are seeing?
Is it a Viceroy or a Monarch? Here are both, so you can see the
difference. The Viceroy (left) has a postmedian line in the hindwings
that the Monarch doesn't have. It is also usually smaller. Viceroys
fly with shallow wingbeats. Monarchs (right) have larger orange cells and
fly with wings in a "V". This specimen is a male (one
black scent mark in each hindwing). (Wolf. Oesterreich, 8/2/18)
