April 13, 2021: Bloodroot
Bloodroot in bloom. The rhizomes' orange-red sap was used by Native Americans as a dye. This plant is found in deciduous woodlands of the midwestern and eastern North America. (Wolf. Oesterreich, 4/7/21)
