April 29, 2022: Broad-winged Hawk
Late afternoon through early evening on the 22nd, hundreds of Broad-winged Hawks were seen migrating northward. I counted at least 239 individuals, but another person with a clearer view had over one thousand. Sometimes they were seen in kettles (dense concentration of birds circling, similar to the vapor rising from a boiling kettle). I observed a few more the next morning. (Wolf. Oesterreich, 4/22/22)
