July 30, 2017: Eastern Tiger Swallowtail




Eastern Tiger Swallowtails (Papilio glaucus) are becoming more numerous at the Park.  This one was found along the lower Upland Trail, on a Cup Plant flower. (Wolf. Oesterreich, 7/3017)

July 28, 2017: Slender Spreadwing



Slender Spreadwings (Lestes rectangularis) have been quite common in a few spots at the Park, especially at the north end of Pond P.  Damselflies tend to hold their wings together over the abdomen, spreadwings being the main exception (slightly spread out).  This spreadwing ia s male.
