Oct 11, 2022: Bald Eagle

As I rounded the south lake's SW corner I noticed (clockwise) an adult Bald Eagle circling low above the  corner and peninsula area.  The eagle soon landed in the water along the shoreline of the peninsula's south tip.  The eagle lifted off, circled several times, and then dropped down into the water.  After floating for several for almost 30 seconds, the eagle lifted off and flew off.  There was nothing clutched in its talons.  This was the first time that I have seen an eagle drop into the water.  Usually they'll grab a fish or bird from near the surface, only getting their talons wet.
