April 25, 2017: White-throated Sparrow

White-throated Sparrows are pushing through our area.  Many times you can hear the "Pure-Sweet-Canada-Canada-Canada" song (for our friends to the north) before one is spotted.  (Most Americans hear "Old-Sam-Peabody-Peabody-Peabody".) (Wolf. Oesterreich, 4/16/17)

April 23, 2017: Northern Cardinal

Before most of  the American Robins return, the Northern Cardinal has already started to sing.  Females can also sing.  [We have a crazy female that keeps bashing against two of our windows.  Nothing we've tried so far has stopped her.] (Wolf. Oesterreich, 4/16/17)

April 21, 2017: Field Sparrow

Field Sparrows have returned.  Note the white eye-ring, pink bill, and clear breast. (Wolf. Oesterreich, 4/16/17)
