July 2, 2018: Gray Catbird

When hiking the trails and you hear what sounds like the mewing of a cat, you're probably hearing a Gray Catbird, a cousin to the Northern Mockingbird.  Both of these species belong to the Family Mimidae and are able to mimic sounds.  Note the rust coloration under the tail.
