While rounding the west side of the south lake I heard the
call of a Sandhill Crane over the sound of a chainsaw (city crew cutting down
some trees). I looked around and then spotted a single crane flying
southward along the east side of the Park. Paul Domoto just missed
it. Later while at the main parking lot I received a call from Paul
telling me to look up. I did, but I didn't see anything.I turned around
and then spotted the 6 Sandhill Cranes flying northward over the center of the
Park. Neither one of us heard they calling, which is unusual. All I was
able to obtain was a silhouette of the 6 cranes. (Wolf. Oesterreich, 3/25/19)
