A female Mallard is eating corn strewn onto the south lake
ice. When first sighted, she was about 20 feet from the corn and all
alone. Another person thought she was dead, but I noticed some head
movement. After a few minutes she got up, walked a few paces, and then
flew the short distance to the corn. When she walked I noticed that she
had a limp. There may be an injury to her left leg/foot. (Wolf. Oesterreich, 2/16/21)
