Tonight Marlene Ehresman (of
Iowa Wildlife Center) and Nate Troxel (volunteer) walk out onto the south lake
ice to collect the carcass of the Trumpeter Swan that had perished most
recently. Afterwards, Nate went back out onto the ice and collected the
carcass of the swan that perished at the end of December. Marlene hopes
to determine the cause of these deaths. (Wolf. Oesterreich, 1/19/18)
