July 4, 2020: Gray Copper

There is one flight of Gray Coppers, from mid-June to July.  Adults nectar on various plants, including alfalfa, Sweet Clover, and milkweeds.  They prefer relatively open areas, such as prairies, waste fields, stream beds, and edges of reservoirs.  At the Park, I've found them along the "island" at the main parking lot and along the lower Upland Trail.
