Snow Goose. 1/9/14 (Wolf. Oesterreich)
Apparently this adult Snow Goose has been around for a while (since mid-December). It was found feeding along the lakes trail, at the SE corner, near the spillway. I was surprised to see that there was still a hole open in the south lake ice. I had been in California for 2 weeks and after noting the sub-zero temps, had expected no open water.
